Mural-Style Restaurant Interior, London Heathrow
Project Overview
A mural-style restaurant interior created in collaboration with London-based interior design studio Studio Mica, combining our Jungle and Reflections wallpapers to form a layered, bespoke dining environment within a major international transport hub.
The Brief
Working with London-based interior design studio Studio Mica, we were commissioned to create a bold yet refined mural-style interior for a restaurant located within a newly built hotel at London Heathrow Airport.
The brief called for a contemporary design that could animate a large-scale atrium space while remaining practical for a high level of footfall, durability requirements and fire safety regulations.
Design Concept
The design combines Jungle – Dawn and Reflections – Dawn from our Glasshouse non-match collection, forming a richly layered composition of botanical and architectural elements.
Inspired by glasshouse structures, palms and tropical planting, the wallpapers create a kaleidoscopic effect that brings depth, rhythm and movement to the space, while maintaining a soft, atmospheric colour palette.

Visualisation & Development
Through a series of visualisations and elevation drawings, we explored multiple design combinations to demonstrate how the two wallpapers could interact across the space.
This process provided a realistic impression of the final interior and allowed the design team to refine layout options before installation, ensuring a cohesive and immersive result.

Installation & Layout
The non-repeat nature of both designs enabled complete creative freedom, producing a bespoke interior with no visible pattern alignment.
A detailed layout plan was created showing where each roll should be cut and positioned, ensuring a smooth installation process and a consistent visual flow throughout the restaurant.

Awards & Recognition
The restaurant interior designed by Studio Mica was shortlisted for the 2020 Restaurant & Bar Design Awards in the category “In Another Space”.
We are delighted that our wall coverings played an integral role in the project’s realisation and recognition.
Client Feedback
Studio Mica – Founder Director, Carolynne Shenton
“Bespoke Atelier's unique and bold wall coverings worked perfectly with our design for the front of house interiors at London Heathrow.
The scale of their designs and organic abstract patterns enabled us to create an interior and ambience ideal for eating and drinking in a large and unusual atrium piazza.
We loved the random concept of the design and that it was available in a vinyl finish meeting the fire classification required for hospitality. Their production team worked closely with our designers throughout the process and fully contributed to the realisation of a dynamic and successful interior.”
Wallpapers Used in This Project
This project features two designs from our Glasshouse non-match collection:
Jungle – Dawn
A contemporary botanical wallpaper featuring layered palm and fern forms.
Reflections – Dawn
An abstract botanical wallpaper combining architectural shapes with tropical foliage.
Both designs can be used individually or combined to create bespoke, mural-style interiors with no visible pattern repeat.
This project demonstrates how our non-match wallpaper system can be used to create large-scale hospitality interiors that feel immersive, contemporary and entirely unique to each space.
